This incident took place during a talk show where Debbi Would and her husband, Steve, were discussing their relationship. It’s more like a list of strict rules that Debbi has set for Steve to follow. While a bit of jealousy can be healthy in a relationship, subjecting your spouse to a lie detector test every day is clearly pushing it too far.
Back in 2015, Debbi and Steve appeared on the UK television show, “This Morning,” to shed some light on their situation. Debbi explained the reasons behind her extreme jealousy, and to some extent, it made sense.
According to the 44-year-old woman, when you have a good man, you do whatever it takes to keep him. The host questioned if her behavior might scare Steve away, but Debbi confidently stated that she did not believe she could frighten him off even if she tried. Steve agreed, saying that he had no intention of leaving, and if he were going to, it would have happened already.
Steve mentioned that Debbi doesn’t subject him to lie detector tests as frequently as before. He also shared that not being able to watch other women on television doesn’t bother him because he prefers watching football or racing instead.
Debbi further elaborated on why TV shows can sometimes be off-limits, explaining that if Steve had married a traditionally stunning woman, it would be different. She feared that he might develop more than just admiration for other women and start lusting after them mentally.
In a subsequent TV appearance, Debbi revealed that she suffers from Othello Syndrome, a condition that causes individuals to have unfounded suspicions of their partner’s infidelity. This syndrome can lead to extreme jealousy, but fortunately, there are treatments available, including medications, to help manage it.
Jealousy can be a complex emotion, and everyone experiences and handles it differently. While some level of jealousy is natural and can reinforce the importance of a relationship, taking it to the extreme can have negative consequences.
