When we think of Richard Gere, we often think of his iconic roles in some of the biggest movies. But there’s more to this talented actor than meets the eye. Lately, the headlines have been buzzing about Richard Gere, but it’s not for his acting work. What many people don’t know is that he is also a father to two grown-up sons. And one of them is the spitting image of him!
Richard’s oldest son, Homer James Jigme Gere, was born during his marriage to his second wife, Carey Lowell. Carey was also an actor, known for her work in Law & Order and as a Bond Girl. Richard was previously married to Cindy Crawford, his first wife, but their marriage ended because he didn’t want children. However, a few years later, he had children with Carey.
Although Richard’s children are no longer young, there is very little known about them. This is because their parents have done an excellent job of keeping them out of the limelight. But one thing we do know is that Homer was the pride and joy of his father. Richard described him as the ‘joy of life’ and praised his intelligence, sense of humor, and quick wit.
In 2014, Homer briefly stole the limelight when he walked the red carpet at the Giffoni Film Festival. It was a surprise for many to see him, and it sparked curiosity about his life. Homer later enrolled at Brown University, where he is currently studying Cognitive Neuroscience and Visual Arts at the School of Public Health.
Unfortunately, Richard’s marriage to Carey came to an end in 2016. It seems that Richard has also stepped away from social media, and Homer’s Facebook page has been inactive since around 2018. Despite the divorce, both parents have agreed on shared custody, and Homer maintains a close relationship with both his mother and father.
In 2020, Homer welcomed another brother into the world. However, Richard and Carey have been extremely secretive about their younger son and have not even shared his name. With two toddlers in the household, there is still much unknown about this growing family.
