Lori and George Schappell: Oldest Conjoined Twins Pass Away at 62

The world has been captivated by the remarkable lives of conjoined twins Lori and George Schappell. But sadly, we must now bid farewell to these extraordinary individuals as they have recently passed away at the age of 62.

Born with partially fused skulls and sharing 30% of their brain, the doctors estimated that Lori and George would not live past the age of 30. Yet, they defied the odds, surpassing that milestone and many more.

Lori and George were born on September 18, 1961, and as they grew older, they developed their own distinct interests and personalities. Lori excelled as a 10-pin bowler, while George pursued a career as a country and western singer. In addition, George revealed his true identity as a transgender several years ago, embracing his male identity after being assigned female at birth.

Despite being connected throughout their lives, the twins maintained a strong bond while also respecting each other’s privacy. When it came to dating, they would even turn away from each other to allow for moments of intimacy.

George faced the challenges of living with spina bifida, while Lori was able-bodied, which made their connection even more complex. But together, they overcame countless obstacles and remained an unstoppable team.

This is undoubtedly a heart-wrenching time for their family and friends. We extend our deepest condolences and wish them strength as they navigate this difficult loss. The legacy of Lori and George Schappell will forever inspire us, reminding us of the power of resilience, individuality, and the unbreakable bonds of love.
