Breaking News: Pat Sajak Opens Up About Emergency Surgery

Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak recently underwent emergency surgery for a clogged intestine. In his first interview since the procedure, Sajak revealed that he had thought he might not survive. However, thanks to the successful surgery, he is now feeling fantastic and ready to get back to work.

A Scary Experience

Sajak began experiencing excruciating pain in November while out for a stroll with his daughter. The pain became so severe that he had to be rushed to the hospital for surgery. In his own words, he described the moments leading up to the procedure, saying, “I was lying on the bed in the fetal position…none of the drugs they gave me for the pain worked.” He even thought he might be facing death. But to his relief, it turned out that he was just feeling the effects of the medication.

Grateful for Recovery

Fortunately, Sajak’s surgery was a success, and he has been feeling fantastic ever since. He revealed that doctors did not find any underlying reasons for the blockage, so he doesn’t need to make any significant changes to his lifestyle. He even joked, “In my opinion, everything is OK…nothing popped even after the wheel was spun.”

Vanna White’s Temporary Role

During Sajak’s recovery, his longtime co-host Vanna White stepped in to host the show. In the interview, Sajak playfully expressed his concern about White potentially taking over as the main host, saying, “I learned she enjoys hosting, and I’m a little nervous.” However, he reassured fans that he still has his wits about him and plans to continue selling vowels for a long time.

Ryan Seacrest to Replace Sajak

Following Sajak’s announcement of retirement from Wheel of Fortune, the question on everyone’s mind was who would be the next host. Speculations ranged from Vanna White to an unknown face, but it has been officially announced that Ryan Seacrest will be taking over the role. In a statement, Seacrest expressed his gratitude for the opportunity, acknowledging Sajak’s legendary status on the show and stating that he’s excited to continue the wheel-spinning legacy.
